AUTO INJURY AND WORK INJURY REHAB — KENTUCKY

Hurt in a car accident or injured at work? We can help.

AIR provides coordinated rehab for auto accident and workplace injuries across Kentucky, with structured treatment plans, clear documentation, and four locations serving Lexington, Bardstown, Louisville, and Harlan.

AUTO ACCIDENT INJURIES

Injuries from car accidents

Auto accidents cause trauma that often does not appear immediately, and does not resolve without proper treatment. AIR provides injury-specific rehab with the documentation your personal injury case needs from day one. The sooner you start, the better the outcome, both clinically and practically.

Whiplash and neck pain

The most common auto injury. Symptoms often worsen in the 24 to 72 hours after impact, not just at the moment of collision.

Lower back pain and spinal strain

Impact forces compress and strain the lumbar spine. One of the most common and most commonly undertreated auto injuries.

Upper back and thoracic pain

Seatbelt forces and collision mechanics affect the thoracic spine. Presents as tightness or sharp pain between the shoulder blades.

Sprains, strains, and muscle tears

Soft tissue injuries from rapid collision forces. May not show on imaging but cause real, significant functional limitation.

Post-accident headaches

Frequently cervicogenic — originating from tension in the neck. Treating the cervical spine resolves most post-accident headaches.

Shoulder, hip, and knee injuries

Seatbelt, impact, and bracing forces commonly cause joint strains and ligament injuries that need structured rehab to resolve.

WORK INJURIES

Injuries from the workplace

Workers' comp rehab built around functional recovery and safe return to work. AIR coordinates directly with case managers, employers, and claims professionals; and provides consistent documentation throughout your claim. The same principle applies after a work injury: earlier treatment means better outcomes and a cleaner claim.

Back and spinal injuries

Lifting, twisting, and repetitive strain are the most common causes of work-related back injury. Acute and cumulative both.

Shoulder and rotator cuff

Overhead work, heavy lifting, and repetitive motion commonly cause rotator cuff damage, impingement, and shoulder strain.

Knee and lower extremity

Acute injury and cumulative strain from physical work demands: lifting, kneeling, sustained standing, and impact.

Repetitive stress injuries

Carpal tunnel, tendinitis, and other conditions that develop gradually from repeated motion, sustained posture, or tool vibration.

Sprains and strains

Acute soft tissue injury from falls, slips, sudden exertion, or awkward movement on the job.

Post-surgical rehab

Return-to-work rehab following surgery, timed correctly and built around your job's actual physical demands.

COMMON QUESTIONS

What people ask before their first visit

How soon should I start rehab after a car accident or work injury?

As soon as possible. Symptoms from auto and work injuries often appear or worsen in the 24 to 72 hours after the incident. Starting care quickly gives your body the best chance at full recovery and creates a clinical record close to the date of the injury, which matters for both personal injury and workers' comp cases.

Does AIR work with personal injury attorneys and workers' comp case managers?

Yes. AIR has experience with both personal injuryand workers' comp cases. We provide initial evaluation reports, functional progress documentation, and discharge summaries formatted for legal and claims use. We communicate directly with attorneys and case managers throughout treatment.

What does treatment at AIR actually involve?

Every patient starts with a thorough evaluation. From there we build a specific treatment plan — not an open-ended series of sessions. Treatment typically includes hands-on manual therapy, progressive strengthening, and mobility work tailored to your specific injury and functional goals.

How do I get started?

Call our intake line or request an appointment online. We will confirm whether AIR is the right fit, get you scheduled promptly, and explain exactly what to expect before your first visit. For referral partners, patient records can be sent by fax after our intake team makes contact.

What if my injuries seem minor after the accident?

Come in for an evaluation. Minor-feeling injuries after a car accident or work incident are frequently more significant than they appear in the first 48 hours. An evaluation costs you nothing compared to the risk of undertreating an injury that becomes chronic, or gaps in your clinical record that create problems for your case later.

Do I need a referral from a doctor to start treatment at AIR?

Not always. Call our intake team and we will tell you exactly what is needed based on your situation and case type. For workers' comp cases, your employer or case manager may need to initiate the referral. For personal injurycases, many patients come to us directly or through their attorney.

What documentation does AIR provide for my case?

We provide an initial evaluation report after your first visit, functional progress reports throughout treatment, and a discharge summary at case close. All documentation is formatted to support personal injury and workers' comp case workflows. If your attorney or case manager needs something specific, they can contact our intake team directly.

Does AIR treat injuries that happened a while ago?

Yes. If you are still in pain from an accident or work injury that occurred weeks or months ago (or if you feel your recovery stalled under previous treatment) AIR will evaluate where you are and build a plan from there. It is not too late to get the right care.
