[Call now](tel:+15023151219) ## What Advanced Injury Medical provides ### Physician exam A physician sees every patient at the first visit. Dr. Conliffe evaluates where the pain comes from, screens for concussion and nerve injury, and decides whether imaging or a specialist is needed. Function is measured at the start, so progress can be tracked against it. ### Medication and injections Treatment is directed by the physician and may include medication and injections when clinically indicated, alongside rehab. Care begins with non-opioid options. ### Imaging and specialists When a patient needs imaging or a specialist, we arrange it. Specialist needs go back to the patient’s health system, and results and outcomes are reported to the referring clinician. ## How to refer OPTION 1 ### Send an Epic referral Send it to Advanced Injury Medical. We aim to call the patient within one business day. OPTION 2 ### Add this to the after-visit summary Follow-up for car crash injuries: Advanced Injury Medical, (502) 315-1219. Call within 2 days to schedule. They bill your auto insurance and can arrange rides, if needed. NEXT STEPS ## What happens next #### We call within one business day. #### Physician exam with concussion and nerve screen. #### One plan with an end point. Goals are set around work and daily routines, and function is tested at intake and discharge. #### Specialist needs go back to your health system, and outcomes are reported to the referring clinician. ## Rehab: based on need Many crash patients need rehab. Depending on their needs and location, we refer to our rehab affiliate, Advanced Injury Rehab, or to the health system or provider the patient prefers. The choice is the patient’s, and we’ll explain all of their options. Dr. Conliffe also serves as Medical Director of Advanced Injury Rehab. ### Who to refer Any outpatient who has been in a motor vehicle accident, including patients going home from the ER or urgent care. Common examples: pain, strains, sprains, whiplash and mild concussion symptoms. If you’re not sure, send the referral and we’ll sort it out. ### Who not to refer Patients who need inpatient services, such as skilled nursing or surgery. ### Coverage Most crash patients are covered through the vehicle they were in, or the one that hit them.
