CLINICAL TEAM ## Doctors and clinicians ### Mark Conliffe, DO ![AIR-Doctor-Icon-Male](https://www.advancedinjury.rehab/hs-fs/hubfs/AIR-Doctor-Icon-Male.png?width=200&height=200&name=AIR-Doctor-Icon-Male.png) *Medical Director, Co-Founder* Dr. Conliffe earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He is board-certified in neuromusculoskeletal medicine and osteopathic manipulative medicine, with a subspecialty certification in pain medicine, allowing him to treat both the structural and pain-related dimensions of injury recovery. His clinical focus includes musculoskeletal injuries, osteopathic manipulative treatment, and interventional pain care including injections. As Medical Director of AIR, he provides clinical oversight across all three locations, ensuring every patient receives care grounded in sound medical judgment from day one. ### Ross Kowzan, DC/MS ![AIR-Doctor-Icon-Male](https://www.advancedinjury.rehab/hs-fs/hubfs/AIR-Doctor-Icon-Male.png?width=200&height=200&name=AIR-Doctor-Icon-Male.png) *Co-Founder, Chief Growth Officer* Dr. Kowzan graduated from Logan University in St. Louis with a Doctor of Chiropractic and a Master of Science in sports medicine rehabilitation, and spent many years in private practice providing acute injury and physical medicine care before co-founding AIR, including extensive personal injury case experience. His clinical approach centers on soft tissue rehabilitation with advanced training in Graston Technique and Active Release Technique, with particular expertise in knee, shoulder, and low back conditions. He brings both the clinical background and the operational experience to build a rehab practice that works for patients, attorneys, and case managers. ### Dawn Whietfeld, DC ![AIR-Doctor-Icon-Female](https://www.advancedinjury.rehab/hs-fs/hubfs/AIR-Doctor-Icon-Female.png?width=200&height=200&name=AIR-Doctor-Icon-Female.png) *AIR Bardstown* Dr. Whietfeld graduated from the National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, Illinois in 1993 with a Doctor of Chiropractic, a Bachelor of Science in human biology, and an Associate of Science, then opened an integrated chiropractic practice in Midland, Michigan before relocating to Kentucky and focusing on auto injury care, where she has managed more than 1,000 cases across her career. She treats patients of all ages and a wide range of injuries including neck, shoulder, knee, wrist, and elbow conditions.  ### Brian Hendrix, DC ![AIR-Doctor-Icon-Male](https://www.advancedinjury.rehab/hs-fs/hubfs/AIR-Doctor-Icon-Male.png?width=200&height=200&name=AIR-Doctor-Icon-Male.png) *AIR Lexington* Dr. Hendrix earned his Doctor of Chiropractic from Logan College of Chiropractic and has been in practice for 18 years, 17 of them in private family practice, developing deep experience in the injuries AIR treats most: whiplash, cervical and lumbar sprains and strains, thoracic injuries, shoulder and hip injuries, and post-accident headaches. His broad practice history and patient-centered approach translate directly to the personal injury and workers' comp cases he sees at AIR Lexington. ### Joe Gritter, OTR/L ![AIR-Doctor-Icon-Male](https://www.advancedinjury.rehab/hs-fs/hubfs/AIR-Doctor-Icon-Male.png?width=200&height=200&name=AIR-Doctor-Icon-Male.png) *Occupational Therapist, AIR Louisville* Joe Gritter earned his degree in Occupational Therapy from Grand Valley State University in Michigan and built his clinical foundation in acute and subacute rehabilitation at Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital and University of Michigan Health West, two of Michigan's most respected rehabilitation programs.
